Synergy Provides Technology Solution to Colorado-based Fire and Rescue Authority for Vital Training Tasks

May 17, 2012 – (Bingham Farms, MI) -- We all know that the real heroes in our society are the folks who put their lives on the line to protect us from harm and rescue us from peril. So, when Colorado’s South Metro Fire & Rescue Authority (“South Metro”) called on us to automate the training approval process for their employees, Synergy Computer Solutions, Inc. (”Synergy”) jumped at the chance to support this organization of brave men and women.
South Metro needed a system that would allow employees requesting training to quickly and efficiently receive the necessary approvals required and get registered. Previously, the organization had been managing this task using a paper-based process that was slow and inefficient.
Synergy worked with South Metro to fully document its process needs, then developed and delivered an automated system that reduced the time-frame of the tasks from 10 days to 1 day. Using K2 blackpoint and Microsoft SharePoint, Synergy developed a solution that encompassed all aspects of the training request and registration process which included three layers of approvers, several different forms, training costs and travel accommodations. Synergy also provided a complete and thorough review of the organization’s current technical environment and provided recommendations for improvement.
The system is now fully functional and handles an average of 40 requests & registrations for training per week. All requirements are satisfied and employees are getting excellent service for the training they need to be at their best.
