Synergy Helps Australia-based Global Financial Services Company Expand Global Reach and Service Offerings

Projects include uniting systems after acquisition, and implementing online fund management capabilities for clients

June 13,2011 – (Bingham Farms, MI) -- Australia’s largest financial services company, headquartered in Sydney provides banking, financial, advisory, investment and funds management services to institutional, corporate and retail clients. Founded in 1969, the company started with a single bank and just 3 employees. Today the company employs over 15,000 people in 28 countries and is valued at $300 billion (U.S. Dollars). It established its U.S. presence in 1994, and currently has 3,700 professionals and 32 locations in the region.

Synergy Computer Solutions, based in Detroit, is a professional services firm specializing in information technology consulting and outsourcing.

The financial services organization first contracted Synergy Computer Solutions to provide Y2K remediation support in 1998. Since then, Synergy has been supporting the company’s explosive growth and acquisition strategies with a succession of business and I.T. re-engineering projects.
Synergy played a key role during one of the company’s more complex acquisitions by managing the information technology integration of the parent company and its newly acquired firm.
Synergy relocated two primary systems of the acquired firm, an asset management system (AMS) and an external customer service portal system (ECS), from its host site in New Jersey to the parent company’s corporate office in Sydney. Synergy provided consultants with skills in PowerBuilder and Oracle for the AMS relocation. The ECS relocation was supported by Synergy consultants with skills in ASP.NET, C# and Microsoft SQL Server.
In addition to relocating the systems and maintaining data integrity, Synergy installed the components, integrated all the data, then managed enhancements and testing.
Uniting the disparate systems is just one of many services Synergy has provided for the company over the years. Synergy’s ongoing work includes custom applications development, creation of a customer portal to allow clients to access and manage funds electronically, and overall support of the company’s IT group.
